DR GENEVIEVE MILNES

Dr Genevieve Milnes is a Clinical Psychologist working with children and adults with over 30 years experience as an educator, professional counsellor, psychotherapist and psychologist. Dr Milnes’ extensive experience includes university lecturing, expert-witness testimony and public speaking. She trained police officers and social workers in interviewing children who have been sexually abused (SCIU), conducted forensic assessments and court reports for the Department of Justice and investigates the ongoing integration of theology and psychology. Genevieve was a presenter on regular talk-back radio programmes for over 10 years and conducted media interviews on psychological topics and issues. She traveled to remote locations in the outback of Western Australia for assessments and interventions in Mental Health with Indigenous communities. She was the national co-ordinator for the Child Sexual Abuse & Psychology Interest Group of the Australian Psychological Society.
Genevieve was the National President of the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia for 13 years. She has been conducting vocational evaluations using psychometric assessments & clinical interview for over 25 years. Genevieve’s PhD research established the psychotherapeutic modality Rewiring Cognitions and Emotions which is formulated on the basis of brain neuroplasticity, procedural memory functioning, combined with Inner Child (emotions & feelings) psychodynamic exercises.
Dr Milnes was a volunteer for 8 years with an interdenominational mission working with underprivileged people in Brazil, South America where she lectured in counselling and psychology in the Portuguese language and was a member of philanthropic bodies and institutions for education, spiritual and psychological uplift, treatment and rehabilitation. She is currently the Clinical Director of Psychology Australia Mt Lawley and also holds clinics in Albany, WA.
